San Marino Chamber Choir finale Concert at the Palau de la Música Catalana on April 11 at noon

Incantato Tours proudly presents the San Marino Chamber Choir at the Petit Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona on Sunday, April 11, at noon.

The Palau de la Música Catalana (Palace of Catalan Music) in Barcelona is a concert hall designed in the Catalan modernism style by the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. It was built between 1905 and 1908 for the Orfeó Català, a choral society. The Palau won the architect an award from the Barcelona City Council in 1909, given to the best building built during the previous year. Between 1982 and 1989, the building underwent extensive restoration, remodeling, and extension. In 1997, the Palau de la Música Catalana was even declared as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Today, more than half a million people a year attend musical performances in the Palau that range from symphonic and chamber music to jazz and Cançó (Catalan song). Many of the world's best soloists and singers have visited the Palau de la Música Catalana, among them are Lela Tsurtsumia, Alfred Cortot, Albert Schweitzer, Julian Lloyd Webber, Montserrat Caballé and Josep Carreras. Also performing at the Palau have been famous choirs, such as Capella Sistina di Roma, Orfeón Donostiarra, Escolania de Montserrat and the Wiener Sängerknaben.
Opened on the 18th of February 2004, the Petit Palau hall is a new auditorium intended for events that require a smaller seating capacity than the Concert Hall. Its dimensions and acoustics make it particularly suitable for music concerts. It is built at a depth of 11 metres. Fixed stands and retractable orchestra stalls that can be concealed under the stage make this a versatile and unique space.
